Goodbye Online Sequencer...

Posted by CuppyGuy - 3 days ago

Well, it's happened.

After 3 years of my work being exclusively composed with Online Sequencer, I've finally moved on.

Online Sequencer is a website that allows you to place notes on a timeline and play it back (hence the name), and also the ability to export songs as MP3s or MIDIs.

I found Online Sequencer around mid-2023, right when I was starting to get into digital music-making. Previously I had been using Song Maker Plus (a remake of Chrome Music Lab's Song Maker) for music, but Song Maker Plus was VERY limited. It was good for small things, but full-on songs? Forget it.

Desperate to find another option, I typed in "best free online music making websites" and found Online Sequencer near the top.

It was everything I had ever hoped for. Simple controls, tons of tones, and beautiful reverb. Over the next few years I learned more and more about the website and was able to do a lot more things.

But, like all time periods, my time with Online Sequencer has come to an end. It just didn't have the things and features I needed to make the songs I wanted to make.

And so, I stumbled across BandLab. I won't go into too much detail about BandLab, but it's basically FL Studio except free and online.

I will be leaving all my Online Sequencer songs up of course, but hopefully now I can make better, higher quality music now.

I'll miss Online Sequencer, but it had served it's purpose in teaching me what i needed to know.

What a fitting name I gave my last Online Sequencer Album.
